Installing a free SSL certificate

An SSL certificate encrypts the connection to your website, shows the padlock in the browser and lets your site load on https://. It’s included free with your hosting.

Check your certificate

  1. In cPanel, open SSL/TLS Status under Security.
  2. Look for a green padlock next to your domain and www.
  3. If any show a problem, tick them and click Run AutoSSL.

AutoSSL can only issue a certificate once your domain points to our servers. After changing nameservers, give it a few hours and run it again.

Send everyone to https://

In cPanel, open Domains and turn on Force HTTPS Redirect for your domain. For WordPress, also make sure both addresses under Settings → General start with https://.
