Uploading your website with File Manager or FTP

Your website’s files go in the public_html folder. Anything in it is visible at yourdomain.com.au.

With File Manager

  1. In cPanel, open File Manager and go into public_html.
  2. Click Upload and choose your files. For a whole site, upload a .zip file.
  3. If you uploaded a .zip, right-click it and choose Extract, then delete the .zip.

With FTP

Create an FTP account in cPanel under FTP Accounts, then connect with a program such as FileZilla:

SettingValue
Hostyourdomain.com.au (or the server address in your welcome email)
ProtocolFTP with explicit TLS (FTPS)
Port21
Username / passwordThe FTP account you created

Make sure your home page is called index.html or index.php, or visitors will see a list of files instead.
